So how did the month of April go? Hopefully you found some inspiration in that list of words. If you were anything like me when I finished my first month of drawing you are so excited that you made it. You are thinking... "Wow! I don't HAVE to draw today... no more challenge!!" But then out of the blue it hits you...you didn't draw today and something is missing. Well Mrs. Ludwig has your back! (doesn't she always?!) A MAY DAILY DRAWING CHALLENGE! When you get done post it somewhere! This could be anywhere but if you do post it online add the hashtag #smsdraws to your post. Or send it to me and I will put up some of the pictures you all come up with here!! I would love to see what you are doing! The last thing I will leave you with before we start is this...

So OPN put together an architecture challenge and even if you don't create and submit it to them (deadline is May 1st) you could just create the space and submit it to me. AND... incidentally it goes with the 6th grade perspective unit that we did 1st semester and will be available through videos here soon!
Some great resources to see Andy's work! Your task this week is to find something from outside and create art with it.
You will need:
Last week we brought you cardboard sculpting tips because we just knew that you would have a lot of the basic supplies that you might need around the house. This week we bring you something a little more messy but maybe... just maybe a lot more fun! Below is a recipe that I whipped up but you can find lots of variations on there on the internet. Check out this post from The Spruce Crafts for various ideas to improve your paste, video tutorials, and cool projects to try out. So if the geometry of using cardboard boxes has you down and you are looking for something more organic look no further than your recycle bin for answers. LOTS of things can become a base to create a great form that can then be covered in your paper and homemade paste.
Check out the AMAZING birds this artist, Jane Tomlinson, creates with recyclables and papermache. Check out the full post at her website!
All right everyone, your task this week is simple, but CREATIVE... turn all those delivery boxes into something great! In this maiden episode of Art @Home with Noah, we see a couple projects that Noah and Mrs Ludwig have created and grab a few tips for construction. Below are some amazing cardboard sculptures by people that are not us!
